I just learned this lesson the hard way when attempting to help my sister recover her stolen car in London (I live in NY). Some user started trolling and berating me for posting on a London subreddit whilst living in New York. The ops responded not by disciplining the troll/bully but by "banning" me and my earnest plea for help and info on my sister's stolen car. Reddit is absolutely toxic and vile. Best to just never visit that site.
